Every child is unique. Every child’s school readiness journey is unique as well. The great thing about SPARK is that it’s adaptable. Whatever challenge a child is having, the individualized learning plan can be adjusted to address it.
Take Eliana, for instance. When she started in SPARK as a three-year-old, she just couldn’t write her name without adding extra letters.
So at every SPARK visit, her parent partner helped her play the Name Game. The parent partner wrote each letter of Eliana’s name on an index card. With her mom’s assistance, Eliana would practice placing the cards in the correct order.
The Name Game did the trick. Now, as a four-year-old, Eliana writes her name from memory, perfectly, with no extra letters added. She’s well on her way to kindergarten success!
